Introduction & Help
If you are new to the ITS Quoting System, you may find it beneficial to look over this page and find out about some of the new features we have introduced in this new version. Whilst some of these features may seem advanced, we believe that you’ll find them useful and will aid you in creating quotes quickly and painlessly. The following guide should help you if you are having any difficulty using the site. If this page doesn’t answer your question, please feel free to call us on 01223 420101.
- Changing your password or personal details
- Computer suitability icons
- Configuring a computer system
- Enabling session cookies
Changing your Password or Personal Details
To change your password or personal details, first go to the Change your Details page (this can be accessed from the Assessor Quoting System homepage, shown when you log in, by choosing the 'Change your details’ link). The text input boxes should be filled in with your current details (except your password). To change any of the details, simply edit the text input box.
To change your password, enter your existing password into the first box (labeled ‘Old password’), and then enter a new password into the two textboxes below. The ‘Confirm New Password’ password box is to confirm you have typed your new password correctly (and haven’t made a typing error you weren’t aware of).
To select which set of details you would prefer to be your default for new quotes, select the radio button for that set. You edit a set of contact details using the links next to those details.
Once you have made the changes you wanted, you can save them by hitting the ‘Update Details’ button.
Computer Suitability Icons
We appreciate that for assessors, often the task of keeping up to date with the latest technological advances can be overwhelming. Sometimes you just want to know what computer is suitable for a given task, rather than work out if the processor clockspeed is fast enough, or the display resolution on a particular notebook computer is high enough for visual impairment software.
To make the quoting process simpler and easier, we’ve added a system of suitability icons to the site, accompanying every computer system we sell. With these icons you can tell — at a glance — whether or not a given system is up to the task you need it to perform.

Configuring a Computer System
The Configurator is the biggest part of the new Quoting System, and puts all the options for upgrading a computer system quote at your fingertips. It comprises of five sets of options, or stages:
- Customise the computer system
- Choose peripherals
- Add software
- Add consumables (recordable minidiscs, memory cards etcetera)
- Add optional services (training, on-site setup etcetera)
Enabling Session Cookies
The ITS Assessor Quoting System makes use of a technology called session cookies, which some users or system administrators disable because of security concerns. Cookies are often maligned as they can contain personal data which may be unsecure and accessible to sites other than the originator. Session cookies are somewhat safer, in that the only piece of information they contain is a unique reference number which relates to a particular set of data being securely stored on the website’s server.
In the case of the Assessor Quoting System, session cookies are required in order to track your login credentials throughout the site, and you will be unable to log in if they are disabled. In order to enable session cookies, you may need to go through one of several different steps dependent upon which web browser you are using.
