Everest Advanced from iCode

The all-in-one package to run your business on.

We like to do things efficiently. We had been using Sage Line 50 for some years with about 20 users when they said the maximum was six. Painful. We also had the Goldmine CRM package. So we had an antediluvian accounts package which doesn't seem to be being developed, despite having a near monopoly in the UK. And a separate customer/contacts database, with the two systems not talking to each other, a huge amount of duplicated information between the two and very little chance of getting sensible reports and records as to what we were doing with our customers.

We spent a long time looking for solutions that would allow us to serve our customers better and know how we were serving them. We eventually decided on Everest from I-Code an Indo-US company. Sales are mainly organised from the US, support and development mainly from Bangalore in India. You'll need support with such a complex program. They tend to be pretty prompt dealing with problems -- using their support web site with incident tracking, forum, email, MSN instant messaging and occasional phone calls.

Everest is an amazingly sophisticated program. All the usual accounting functions, mostly in considerable depth. Customer/vendor related appointments and task management; considerable flexibility in adding your own data needs; very flexible views onto your data via configurable browsers; integrated web shop; particularly strong on stock processes including returns; multi depot, multi currency, optionally multi company; opportunity management, CRM, process management, customer tracking, contact manager, email, time clock and so on.

We don't understand why small and medium sized businesses don't, as a matter of course, expect to be able to get software that manages all their business processes in an integrated way. Everest, a "mini-ERP" (Enterprise Resource Planning) program goes a long way to doing that. Start with it when you are small, and grow with it!

Everest is underknown in the UK. We are keen to interact with other UK users, act as a reference site, present a united front on enhancement requests and licensing issues and to support the independent users forum at www.yahoogroups.com/everest. We have done quite a lot of work on enhancing many of their standard reports (eg invoices) and could make these available to others. If you are using Everest in the UK, please let us know as we'd like to have a list of UK users. And join the forum.
